Whitman College Accreditation Update
|
Whitman recently submitted its Year 7 Evaluation of Institutional Effectiveness Report to the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU). This self-study focuses on mission fulfillment, improving institutional effectiveness, student learning and student achievement. The NWCCU will perform an on-campus comprehensive accreditation evaluation visit April 15–17, 2024. During this visit, the evaluation team, led by faculty and staff from peer institutions in the NWCCU region, will meet with students, staff and faculty to evaluate the college’s accreditation status. Look for updates on next steps in future editions of Whitman Today and on our Accreditation webpage as we prepare for this visit.

Photo (@whitman_dg): Ada Adler ’25, Philosophy major and member of Delta Gamma, recently visited Olympia for some advocacy work. “I met with senators and representatives on behalf of the independent colleges of Washington to advocate for increasing state financial aid opportunities for those who attend private colleges. The goal is to ensure that regardless of where the student comes from and what their financial state is they have an equal opportunity to attend the college that is the best fit for them.”
