The annual Off-Campus Studies/Study Abroad Fair will take place from 3-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25 in the Reid Campus Center Young Ballroom.
Representatives from the following sponsoring organizations of many of our off-campus studies partner programs are traveling from all over the US and abroad in order to talk with Whitman students, faculty and staff about their programs:

Open Access Week: October 24-30
|
During Open Access Week, researchers celebrate Open Access–practices and policies that make research materials available online for no cost and without other access barriers, so that they can be freely shared and re-used. The Open Access Week theme for 2022 is "Open for Climate Justice," and libraries around the country and the world are sponsoring online lectures and panels related to the theme. There are links to selected event descriptions, registration options, and additional resources in the Penrose Library Guide to Open Access.

Two Talks on Global South Perspectives on the Ukraine War
|
The Politics Department will present two talks at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25 in Maxey 204. Mouin Rabbani, researcher, analyst and commentator, will present "The Ukraine War in The Global South" and Hasmik Egian, director of the UN Security Council Affairs Division, will present "The International Dynamics of the Ukraine War: The Case of the United Nations." Each talk will be relatively short, followed by a Q&A session.

In accordance with Washington state Labor & Industries employer requirements, we are notifying the campus community that over the weekend, one person with Whitman access was confirmed positive for COVID-19 and one test result from last week, which had not previously been reported to campus, was also identified.
Please continue to follow all our campus COVID-19 protocols to help prevent transmission. If you have any symptoms that may be COVID-19 or know that you may have been exposed to coronavirus, please be tested. Additional masks and rapid test kits are available 7:30-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Welty Student Health Center.
