Admitting Future Whitties

Yesterday was a big day for teams in Admission, Financial Aid and Communications!

After carefully reviewing a record number of applications and calculating financial aid offers, the Office of Admission extended offers of admission to more than 2,000 students to be part of the Whitman College Class of 2027. Many of these students will join the 150 students who applied during Early Decision or transferred and have already made their decision to attend Whitman.

In the coming days, each admitted student will receive a congratulatory box of Whitman items to celebrate and share their good news.

Now we enter one of the most critical times of the admission cycle—when high school students are making their college choices. So if you see visitors on campus or know any admitted students, we hope you’ll share all the incredible things that make Whitman a great place to learn.

We are also preparing to welcome hundreds of students and their families to campus for our “Spring Into Whitman Days” on April 1 and April 15. Staff will be in touch in the coming weeks to let you know how you might be involved in those events.

Whitman Website Refresh Launching Soon!

The Office of Communications is excited to announce that the refreshed Whitman College website is projected to be published next week. Our new website is designed to provide an improved user experience, streamlined navigation and content geared for a prospective student audience, including new dynamic major pages. The admission and major pages are designed as recruiting tools, taking into account the feedback of faculty and students. Using search engine optimization and extensive mindset research, the pages aim to attract and engage those most interested in attending Whitman College.

We want to express our deep gratitude to all the faculty, staff and students who contributed to this endeavor. Voices from across campus helped us create a website that truly represents the spirit of Whitman College. This initial launch is the first big step in what will be a continuing process of improvement—as we further enhance and evolve the site.

Thank you again to everyone who contributed to this project, and we look forward to seeing the many ways our new website will help us connect with prospective students and our community.
