Spring is in full bloom at Whitman College, and with it come many prospective and admitted students and their families! April is an important month in the admission cycle, with visits taking place every week Monday through Saturday and larger admitted students programs taking place on April 1 and 15.
Whatever your role at Whitman, you have a part to play in welcoming admitted students over the next few weeks. Here are a few ways to help:
|
- Smile! Be ready to turn a friendly face to people you pass on campus.
- Wear your Whitman gear, especially on the days that admitted students programs are taking place.
- Be conscientious about parking. Please do not park in the spaces labeled for visitors or anywhere that blocks campus sidewalks or pathways.
- Answer questions.
- Extend invitations to classes and events.
- Share what you love about Whitman!
|
Thank you to everyone who engages with these admitted students from the initial point of contact through their upcoming visits and decisions.

Food Pantry Stocked for Ramadan
|
Last week marked the beginning of Ramadan, the holiest month in the Muslim calendar which commemorates the time when the first verses of the Quran were revealed more than 1,400 years ago. This sacred time is marked by fasting, prayer, community and philanthropy for Muslims all over the world. The Whitman Muslim Student Association is partnering with the Whitman Food Pantry and the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life to provide food options through the end of Ramadan—not only for Muslims in the Whitman community, but for anyone who might like to sample some of the foods that are typically eaten when the sun sets and it’s time to break the fast. The Food Pantry in the GAC is accessible with your Whitman ID between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. daily. Ramadan Mubarak!
