Exploring with the Outdoor Program
|
Seven students and two staff members recently participated in an ice climbing trip near the Bluewood ski area, hosted by Whitman's Outdoor Program (OP). Conditions were good for ice climbing, with clear skies and temperatures hovering around freezing.
The Outdoor Program coordinates a wide variety of trips (hiking, biking, skiing, etc.) for many weekends throughout the school year. Most are appropriate for all skill levels, and each Whitman student currently receives $150 in OP trip credit via the Bob Carson Outdoor Program fund.
The Outdoor Program is committed to providing equitable access for all to the outdoors, and offers fun ways for students to try new experiences, foster healthy life long pursuits, and bond with other students.
