International Professors Visit Whitman
|
Four professors from Poland were guests on campus this week: Zuzanna Sawinska, Danuta Kurasiak-Popowska, and Beata Borowiak Sobkowiak from Poznan University of Life Sciences; and Roma Durak from the University of Rzeszow. Their visit, sponsored by the European Union, was part of a month-long visit to the United States, and included visits to Whitman College, Walla Walla Community College and several agricultural research organizations in the state.
"It was fun to get an outside perspective," says Greg Lecki, director of international student and scholar services, who arranged for them to observe some Whitman classes and lectures. "Our guests were impressed with the beauty of our campus, the convenience and walkability of Walla Walla, our smaller class sizes, and the level of interaction they observed between students and faculty."
