Don’t Get Phished

Email scammers are continually trying to trick people into responding to fraudulent messages and clicking on links to fake websites.

This screenshot is a recent example of a phisher trying to get a username and password. This fraudulent page mimicking the myWhitman login screen was linked in an email warning people that their account had been suspended.

Always pay attention to links in email messages, especially ones that imply a sense of urgency or ask you to “act now.”

https://login.whitman.edu or https://cas.whitman.edu are the real addresses that appear when you are asked for your myWhitman username and password.

You can report phishing messages like this to phishy@whitman.edu.

If you think you have entered your password into a fake website, you should change your password by logging into https://my.whitman.edu and clicking on the My Profile tab > Whitman Password.
