Micro-Internships for Students
|
The Career and Community Engagement Center is excited to announce a new opportunity for students through Parker Dewey Micro-Internships, short-term, paid, professional assignments that are similar to those given to new hires or interns. These projects enable students to demonstrate skills, explore career paths and build their networks. Unlike traditional internships, Micro-internships can take place year-round, typically range from five to 40 hours of work, and are due between one week and one month after kick-off.
Not only does this help the companies across various industries and departments who are looking for skills like yours, but it also allows you to get real-world experience and network with professionals. By engaging these companies now, you can make yourself a more experienced and appealing candidate for future internship and career opportunities.
There will be two information sessions this week in the Reid Campus Center Café. Stop by to get your questions about micro-internships answered and enjoy some micro-treats!
- Tuesday, Nov. 8, from 2-4 p.m.
- Wednesday, Nov. 9, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Questions about the info sessions? Email Assistant Director for Internship Programs Nadine Stecklein.
To learn more and start applying, visit Whitman’s Parker Dewey Micro-Internship page, complete your profile, and check out the available opportunities!
