Your Account is NOT Suspended
Throughout the fall, many Whitties have received emails telling them that their "Whitman College Account" has been suspended and that they need to sign in to activate their account.
Be aware: It's a trap! These cleverly designed emails are phishing attacks created to steal a person's password and gain access to their email account.
If a phisher succeeds in getting into your email account, not only can they comb through all your messages for personal details that could be used to steal your identity, they can also bypass spam filters to spread their diabolical campaign of password stealing throughout our campus email system.
Don't fall for it! If you receive an email like this, forward it immediately to phishy@whitman.edu for investigation and then delete it.
