Commencement Weekend Preview

Whitman College graduates will soon cross the stage in front of Memorial Building and mark a significant milestone in their lives—as have so many Whitties before them.
Here’s a preview of how the college and Whitman community will commemorate this joyous occasion—Whitman College’s 137th Commencement—and celebrate the exceptional accomplishments and bright futures of its Class of 2023.
Baccalaureate:

Golfer Alexander Knox Earns GCAA Honors
|
Whitman College men’s golfer Alexander Knox ’25 has been selected to the NCAA Division III PING All-Region Team announced by the GCAA (Golf Coaches Association of America). Knox was one of Whitman’s top golfers this season. He won the Northwest Conference Fall Classic individual title and placed in the top 10 at the Northwest Conference Spring Classic.

Intercultural Excellence Stole Ceremony Update
|
Please note that the location of the Intercultural Excellence Stole Ceremony, which takes place tonight at 5 p.m., has been changed to Olin Auditorium. Graduating seniors are invited to check in at 4:30 p.m. All are invited to attend and join the celebration.

The hours for many offices and facilities on campus will soon change to summer schedules, including:

- Monday–Friday: 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. (espresso)
- Monday–Friday: Noon–1 p.m. (lunch - deli, salad, entrée)

Climbing Gym (already on Summer Hours):

- Monday–Thursday: 5–8 p.m.

Outdoor Program Rental Shop (starting Monday, May 22):

- Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Tuesday, Thursday: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2–4 p.m.

Penrose Library (starting Monday, May 22):

- Monday–Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Reid Campus Center (starting Monday, May 22):

Whitman Today Summer Schedule

Starting Monday, Whitman Today will be published twice weekly, on Mondays and Thursdays, until classes resume in the fall.
