Faculty Awards and Honors

Earlier this month, at the End of Year Faculty Reception, a variety of awards and accomplishments were announced and celebrated, including those featured in Noteworthy below.
Three faculty members were honored for 25 years of service to Whitman College: Theresa DiPasquale, the Gregory M. Cowan Professor in English Language & Literature; Douglas Hundley, Associate Professor of Mathematics; and Katrina Roberts, the Mina Schwabacher Professor of English/Creative Writing and Humanities.
In addition, six faculty members were celebrated as they conclude their full time teaching careers at Whitman College: Susanne Altermann, Senior Lecturer of Biology; Charly Bloomquist, Senior Adjunct Assistant Professor of Art; Philip Brick, the Miles C. Moore Professor of Politics; David Guichard, Professor of Mathematics; Frederick Moore, Professor of Physics; and Jonathan Walters, the George Hudson Ball Endowed Chair in the Humanities and Professor of Religion.

Fire Alarm Testing Schedule
|
Testing of the fire suppression alarm systems will take place in many campus buildings today and tomorrow (see schedule below). Please note that times are approximate and alarms may sound multiple times during testing.

Supervisor Assessment Training Schedule
|
All supervisors on campus should plan to attend one of the training sessions scheduled by Human Resources to cover recent updates to Whitman’s performance management model. Remaining trainings will be offered on Tuesday, May 30, Monday, June 12, Thursday, June 22 and Monday, June 26. Trainings will take place in Reid Campus Center, Room 207. Questions?
