Whitties Helping Whitties: West Coast Events
|
From the Career and Community Engagement Center:
We hope you are having a strong finish to the Fall Semester. As you look ahead to Winter Break, we would like to invite any and all Whitties on the West Coast over break to participate in a Whitties Helping Whitties event coming to a major city near you!
Whitties Helping Whitties is a partnership between the Career and Community Engagement Center and the Alumni Office that will help you learn about new job options, connect with alumni who can help you transition to a new city after graduation, talk about early career opportunities and internships, and meet graduates working in a city you want to explore for the summer.
Join Whitman students, families and alumni for a Whitties Helping Whitties event in the following cities (register on Handshake):
Questions? Email ccec_info@whitman.edu. We look forward to seeing you there!

French Professor Emerita Publishes Book
|
Mary Anne O’Neil, emerita professor of French, recently published a book titled "Three Centuries of Girls’ Education: 'Regulations of the Ursuline Nuns of the Congregation of Paris'” (LSU Press). Her book provides the only English translation of a 1705 document creating the first pedagogical system designed explicitly for the education of girls. Chapters preceding the translation trace the history of the "Regulations" from its 17th-century origins, its role in establishing the first girls’ schools in Canada and Louisiana in the 18th century, and its lasting importance in Catholic pedagogy in the 20th century.
