Whitties Embrace the World
|
This Fall semester, seventeen curious and intrepid Whitties embraced the opportunity to study and live abroad as part of their Whitman education in a disparate array of countries—Austria, Cambodia, Denmark, Indonesia, Japan, Morocco, New Zealand, Switzerland and Taiwan.
Wondering what subjects they have delved into? Or the connections they have made with locals? Take a glimpse into four study-abroad stories through student blog posts.
- Rebecca Bartig '24, economics major, Syracuse, Florence, Italy
- Mia Groff '22, geology major, Frontiers Abroad: Geology of New Zealand
- Timo Jimenez '23, Chinese major, CET Taiwan
- Rosa Woolsey '23, anthropology major, SIT Indonesia: Art, Religion & Social Change
Stay tuned for more rich, global learning testimonials next semester as 88 Whitman students participate in Off-Campus Studies in Spring 2023, including our first students ever to attend the Border Studies Program (Earlham), SIT Iceland Climate Change & Arctic Studies, and the SFS Chile Patagonia Fire & Ice Program.
