Students Create Short Films for Competition
|
Students in the Advanced Filmmaking course taught by Robert Sickels, the Alma Meisnest Chair of Humanities and Professor of Film and Media Studies, began spring semester making short films for the Short. Sweet. Film Competition in Cleveland, Ohio. Students had two weeks to make a film no longer than five minutes in length inspired by a randomly drawn prompt. The four films they made played in competition to a sold out crowd at the Atlas Theater in Shaker Heights, Ohio on March 5th. A short film titled “Kindred Spirit” made by Film and Media Studies majors Sienna Axe ’23, Riley Glendinning ’23 and Alex Moore ’25 won the competition’s Outstanding Writing Award.
