We know it can be hard to return from the fun and freedom of Spring Break, so take a minute to watch this video to remind yourself of all the things that are awesome about being a Whittie!

Mask On, Mask Off, Mask Optional

Whitman is a mask-optional campus, but it's important to remember that there will be spaces where masks remain required (including Welty Student Health Center and in classrooms and offices at the discretion of faculty and staff), so please have a mask on hand at all times so that you are prepared to respect these requests. We also encourage you to continue masking in the fitness center, given the higher risk of transmission during exercise.

 

If you need new masks, you can pick up N95 or Whitman cloth masks at Cordiner today through Friday, April 1 from 8–9 a.m. and 12–1 p.m.

 

Testing Reminder

Please remember that everyone should take a COVID-19 test as we get back into the swing of post-Spring Break life. Students have been provided with a home test kit in their campus mailboxes and employees may pick up a test kit at Cordiner during the noon hour.

 

It is not necessary to report a negative test result. Students who receive a positive COVID-19 test should call Welty Student Health Center at 509-527-5295. Employees who test positive should contact Human Resources (hr@whitman.edu).

It’s almost time for another test of the Whitman Emergency Notification System! At that time an alert will be sent via email, on speakers in college buildings, by text and call and as a notification in the Everbridge app. The alert will indicate that it is only a test. You will also be asked to confirm that you received the alert. This is an important function that will help us account for people (if that is necessary) in case of an emergency.

 

Prior to the test, you might want to check to make sure that your information is current by following these instructions:

• Log on to my.whitman.edu
• Select the “My Profile” tab at the top
• Select “Campus Alerts” link from the list on the left
• Enter or update your information

It is important that we are able to reach all students, faculty and staff in case of an emergency on campus so please keep this information current. The phone number you provide for campus alerts will not be used for other purposes.
