Email list owners, if you recently received any bounce back messages from your listserv, please know that these are legitimate. The old EZMLM style lists (@lists.whitman.edu) are getting rejected more and more by Google and that is why the college recently migrated the standard mailing lists (forsale, rides, lostandfound, announcements, community and students) to Google Groups. All other EZMLM lists should also be converted to Google Groups to ensure successful message delivery.
The process is as follows:
|
- A current list owner should request a new Google Group with the same list mail address as the existing EZMLM list. (The email address will change from listname_here@lists.whitman.edu to listname_here@whitman.edu.)
- Technology Services will then create the new group and subscribe everyone from the old list to the new group.
- The old EZMLM list will then be deleted.

In accordance with Washington State Labor & Industries employer requirements, we are notifying the campus community that since yesterday, nine people with Whitman access were confirmed positive for COVID-19.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Today's number of new COVID-19 cases is higher than we have seen on campus in recent months. The college, in collaboration with the Health Center, is looking into this spread. Initial indications are that most cases are linked to a group of students who showed COVID-19 symptoms after being in close contact with each other. Students who tested positive have been notifying other potential close contacts.
Please continue to follow all our campus COVID-19 protocols and if you have any symptoms that may be COVID-19 or know that you may have been exposed to coronavirus, please be tested.
