Resident Assistants Dinners
|
Earlier in the semester, Associate Dean of Students for Campus Life Nancy Tavelli and Associate Director of Residence Life and Housing Andrew Padilla Johnson hosted a series of dinners for Resident Assistants (RAs).
Resident Assistant events like these are a decades-long Whitman Residence Life tradition aimed at helping RAs from across campus build strong relationships with each other. It exemplifies how Whitman and Residence Life place personal connections at the heart of life on campus. Even years later, former RAs, now alumni, return to campus and talk about their fond memories of dinners at Tavelli’s house, including the cozy living room, beautiful table settings and delicious made-to-order Italian sodas.

Tomorrow is Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women (MMIW) Awareness Day
|
May 5th is recognized in the United States and Canada (under a variety of names) as a day to raise awareness to the high number of missing and murdered people in First Nations and Native American Communities, especially women and girls (learn more). The majority of these cases remain unsolved and jurisdictional issues between state, local, federal and tribal law enforcement make investigations more difficult. One way you can show support for this movement is by wearing red on Friday, May 5.
